Tubettaja Weksi won the Audience Favorite, Phenomenon of the Year and Video of the Year awards.
At the Tubecon Awards gala organized at Logomo in Turku on Friday, influencers in the social media industry have been awarded in a total of 29 different categories.
One of the awardees is the Audience Favorite, the Phenomenon of the Year and the Video of the Year awards Weksi i.e. Henry Weckström from his video We are dropped from an airplane into the desert. At the gala, he gave a moving speech in which he thanked his father and broke into tears at the same time.
– The biggest thank you goes to the man who has always taken care of me since he was a child. Took her to choir practice, even though it’s been hard for me. Even though when I was little I didn’t realize how big a deal it is, what you’ve done for me, you’re the biggest hero of all, dad. This is for you, he said while holding up his award on stage.
The social media video in question, published in November, quickly became hugely popular. The video has already been viewed more than two million times on YouTube. In the over two-hour long video, Weckström talks openly about his mother’s substance abuse and his violent childhood, among other things.
In an interview with Iltalehte before the award ceremony, Weksi opened up about his feelings about the nominations his video received.
– When I made the video, I didn’t think it would become so popular. It’s a cool feeling and grateful, he says.
It’s great about Weks that the video has reached a lot of people who don’t normally consume YouTube content at all.
– At the point when men over 50 post a message that they have cried for the first time in over 30 years after watching a video and then send their own father a message telling them that they love him for the first time, such (feedback) only gives me chills, he rejoices.
