Formula 1 superstar Max Verstappen is racing in the Green Hell at the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring (May 16th to 17th, 2026) – and NITRO is showing the entire motorsport spectacle LIVE.

“The 24 Hours of Nürburgring 2026 – The biggest car race in the world” – and with the participation of four-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen!

NITRO makes the motorsport highlight live on free TV for 26 hours – an unprecedented TV marathon, for the eleventh time in a row.

The broadcast starts on Saturday, May 16th, from 1:45 p.m. The full racing action is free for everyone until Sunday, May 17th at 3:45 p.m.

For Verstappen, taking part is a dream come true. “The Nürburgring 24 Hours have been on my wish list for a long time,” said the Formula 1 driver about his trip to the Green Hell.

Marcel Klein is the moderator at the Nordschleife, while Nürburgring veteran Dirk Adorf and Nico Menzel, who sits in the cockpit himself, act as experts.

Eve Scheer, Lina van de Mars, Alessa-Luisa Naujoks, Anna Schröjahr, Felix “Maverick” Kohler, Jakob Paßlick and, for the first time, racing driver Laura Kraihamer act as reporters.

Lukas Gajewski, Peter Reichert, Stefan Fuckert and Dirk Adorf report from the commentary booth.

Qualifying and top qualifying RTL+ and at NITRO

And even before the start of the race, things are getting extremely hot at the Nürburgring: The fight for pole position and thus the perfect preparation for the 24-hour hunt through the Green Hell begins on Thursday, May 14th and Friday, May 15th with the qualifying and top qualifying sessions RTL+* and at NITRO.

Another well-known RTL face is sitting in the cockpit at the 24h race at the Nürburgring: former national soccer player and RTL/NITRO expert Max Kruse.

His start in the racing classic will be closely followed as part of the reporting.
