Roma (askanews) – An escape through Italy, between car races, suspicions and betrayals. It’s a bit action and a bit thriller, but above all it’s the story of an encounter between two very different characters forced to be together, Electric Rose – On the run with the enemynew Sky Original series available from 8 May exclusively on Sky and streaming only on Now.
There is directing Davide Marengo which he directed Maria Chiara Giannetta in the role of a young undercover agent, Rosa, who is entrusted with her first big assignment: escorting a Camorra baby boss, Cocìssdetermined to collaborate with the police to save his own skin, played by Francesco Di Napoli.
When something doesn’t add up in the operation, thirty-year-old Rosa, lover of electronic music and very insecurefollows her instinct and runs away with him, by car, starting a journey in which she will no longer be able to trust anyone. The series is a loose adaptation of the bestselling novel of the same name by Giampaolo Simi (2007, published by Sellerio Editore Palermo); music is a fundamental part, Davide Marengo: «There is a lot of music, many songs, but above all there is a moment in which Rosa, the reason why it is called Electric Rose it’s because there is a passed by raver of Rosa and in some way also of musician, and there is a very beautiful scene of closeness between the two protagonists when she starts to play No Surprises by Radiohead, which is a song that is linked to the past, and it is a very strong emotional moment, and therefore through the music the two characters somehow have a very strong emotional exchange».
