Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter have theirs common single “Bring Your Love” officially released. The duo first performed the track at Carpenter’s headlining performance at the Coachella festival, where Madonna appeared on stage as a surprise guest.
The upbeat dance number, produced by Madonna and Stuart Price, will appear on Madonna’s upcoming album Confessions II, out July 3 via Warner Records. The album follows Madonna’s 2005 record “Confessions on a Dance Floor”. The singer had previously shared the single “I Feel So Free”.
“People think dance music is superficial – but they’re completely wrong,” Madonna said in a statement about “Confessions II.” “The dance floor is not just a place, it is a threshold: a ritual space in which movement replaces language.”
Madonna on dance and spirituality
Of her shared approach with Price, she added: “We need to dance, celebrate and pray with our bodies. These are things we’ve been doing for millennia – they’re essentially spiritual practices. The dance floor is a ritual space. A place to connect – with your wounds, with your vulnerability. Raven is an art. It’s about exploring your limits and connecting with a community of like-minded people. Sound, light and vibration reshape our perception. They draw us in a trance-like state. The bass repeats itself – we don’t just hear it, we feel it. It changes our consciousness and makes ego and time blur.”
At Coachella, Madonna joined Carpenter to perform “Bring Your Love” and performed Madonna’s classics “Vogue” and “Like a Prayer” with the younger pop star.
“Exactly twenty years ago I was on stage at Coachella. I was in the Dance Tent and it was the first time I played ‘Confessions on the Dance Floor’ Part One in America,” Madonna told fans. “It was an incredible experience for me – and you can imagine what it means to come back twenty years later, in the same boots, the same corset, the jacket I was wearing before, the same Gucci jacket.”
Madonna’s words of thanks on Instagram
She later wrote on Instagram: “I’m still on cloud nine since Friday night at Coachella! Thank you to Sabrina and everyone who made it possible to bring ‘Confessions II’ back to where it all began – it was an incredible moment! A moment in history I will never forget!”
