The so-called Deadline Day, the end of the summer transfer phase, will take place in Germany this year on September 1st instead of the usual August 31st. FIFA confirmed this in their transfer window calendar. No information was initially given about the reasons. The last transfer day was usually postponed if the end of August fell on a weekend.
Players can also be signed in England and Spain until September 1 this year. According to the FIFA calendar, Italy has not yet followed suit, August 31 is entered there, as well as in France, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland. Other countries sometimes have much longer transfer periods: In Turkey, player additions are still possible until September 8th, in Portugal even until September 22nd.
