Michael Keane will be entering his tenth season at Everton FC. The 33-year-old central defender extended his originally expiring contract for another season until 2027. With his club membership, the veteran is not the longest-serving member of the Toffees squad. Keane is surpassed by captain Séamus Coleman, who has been at the club since 2009. Like Keane, goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has been there since 2017 – all three are among the top 15 most loyal players in the Premier League, with Coleman even leading the ranking.

Keane, who has played 260 games (19 goals, 10 assists) for the Liverpool club so far, said: “I’m really happy. The club means a lot to me. It’s one of those things that’s easy to say, but it’s become a part of me. It’s a part of me and feels like family to me – the people around the club, the fans, the players, the staff. That’s why it’s very special to me and I really couldn’t imagine life without Everton imagine.”

The defender continued: “Ten years is a long time. I’ve seen a lot here and been through a lot, and it’s good that we’re in a much better place now than in the past. I’m going into my tenth season very positively and find it really exciting to think about what we can achieve and where we could be.” Everton are currently tenth in the table.
