Ukrainian refugees Zoetermeer

Refugees in Zoetermeer

A total of 78 refugees from Ukraine have been received in Zoetermeer. That is 6.2 people per 10,000 inhabitants. Of these, 20 are minors and 58 are older than 18 years. These people registered in our municipality between February 24 and April 7 of this year.

If we compare our figures with surrounding municipalities, it appears that Zoetermeer takes in the fewest refugees. In Leidschendam-Voorburg, 161 refugees (21 people per ten thousand inhabitants) were received, in Waddinxveen 132 refugees (42.1 people per ten thousand inhabitants), in Pijnacker-Nootdorp 153 refugees (27 people per ten thousand inhabitants) and in The Hague 413 refugees ( 7.5 people per ten thousand inhabitants).

Refugees in the Netherlands

In absolute figures, most Ukrainians were accommodated in Rotterdam: almost 1,500. This is followed by Amsterdam with 958 refugees, Groningen with 573 and Eindhoven with 543. In terms of absolute figures, it was also examined in which province the most refugees are received. So far, Ukrainians most often report to a municipality in the province of Groningen (20.5 per ten thousand inhabitants) or Zeeland (20.2). Brabant, Utrecht and Limburg welcomed a lot fewer refugees.

Ukrainian nationality

About five percent of the persons registered from Ukraine do not have Ukrainian nationality. The nationality of a quarter is also unknown. According to Statistics Netherlands, this often concerns children who do not yet have their own passport.
