Bremen storm talent
SV Werder Bremen has prematurely extended the contract of striker Eren Dinkci, which originally ran until 2023. The second division team officially announced this on Monday without naming the new term of the working paper. Dinkci will remain “loyal in the years to come,” it said. The 20-year-old, who made his debut for the Werder pros in December 2020, has played a total of 18 games so far this season, in which he has contributed two assists.
“Eren had a tumultuous start to his young pro career. His first goal in the first Bundesliga game, then relegation with Werder and now the rebuilding. Dealing with all this is often not that easy for a young player. But Eren did a great job and constantly worked on his development. We are therefore pleased that he will continue to wear the Werder jersey,” said Clemens Fritz, head of professional football and scouting.
Dinkci added: “I don’t have to emphasize what Werder and Bremen mean to me. This is my home, this is where I grew up. So of course I’m happy that I’ll be able to run and play in front of these fans here in the Wohninvest-Weserstadion in the coming (years) – hopefully in the 1st league again.”
