Big news for Depeche Mode fans: The band is contributing a new song, “Universal Soldier,” to an international charity project that benefits the aid organization “War Child.”
“Help(2)” collects music for children in crisis areas
The piece is part of the new charity album “Help(2)”, in which numerous artists have contributed. The aim of the publication is to use the proceeds to support children in crisis and war zones who have to grow up under extremely difficult conditions.
There’s no word yet about the song. After the “M” bonus tracks “Life 2.0”, “In The End”, “Survive” and “Give Yourself To Me”, this is now the fifth new song within a short time – possibly a “Memento Mori” outtake.
Created in just one week at Abbey Road Studios
According to an official statement from “War Child”, the entire album was realized within just one week in November 2025. Recording took place at Abbey Road Studios in London. Producer James Ford, who had already supervised “Memento Mori”, took over the creative direction.
Release date
The charity album “Help(2)” will be released on March 6, 2026. All proceeds will go directly to the work of “War Child”. Judging by the tracklist, all songs, like King Krule or Arctic Monkeys, are new pieces.
