The Drenthe association ‘t Aol Volk is now officially and fully called AolVolk – Drenthe lives well. The almost 80 year old AolVolk has received a facelift. The association from Emmen, which keeps Drenthe’s heritage alive with dance, theater and performances, presented the new name, a fresh logo and a new website.

According to chairman Cor de Vries, the renewal shows that AolVolk not only has a rich history, but is also ready for the future.

The new logo combines the new yet familiar name with symbols from Drenthe culture. The round shape of an esdorp represents community, the farmer’s horn invites you to participate. The website has also been refreshed and made clearer.

Also new is the possibility of becoming a ‘neober’, a form of financial support that fits in with Drenthe’s sense of naobership. “Naobers help preserve the heritage and support activities for young and old. Becoming a member remains possible,” the association emphasizes.

In addition, AolVolk has launched new social media channels on Facebook and Instagram. The association wants to reach a broader and younger target group and make contact with members and interested parties easier.

With the new name, the new logo, the website and the social media channels, AolVolk is taking a clear step towards the future. De Vries concluded the presentation with an appeal to members and volunteers: “We can be proud of our association, our volunteers and our heritage. Let us work together to ensure that Drenthe’s heritage continues to sparkle, now and for the future.”
