The sheet, together with a matching pillowcase, ended up in a bag for the thrift store in Baarn. Good riddance, you would think, something to be happy about. But there was a real shock when Barbara saw a photo weeks later.
Search in vain
“A photo of me as a baby in which I was lying under that sheet. I thought: oh no, that is that sheet that I gave away,” she tells NH. A few days after finding the photo, the woman from Loosdrecht rushed to the thrift store, where she searched every corner of the store.
It turned out to be in vain: not a sheet or pillowcase in sight. Manager Michael remembered that the set had already been sold, he heard customers say that they thought the bird was so cute.
