Kendall Jenner is aware of the speculation that circulate in less deep corners of the Internet. Some people there believe that the model has secretly been a lesbian for a long time. In a new interview on the In Your Dreams podcast, Jenner addressed the rumors.
She clarified that she is not part of the LGBTQ community. But would be open about it if that were the case.
“You know what really bothers me? How mean people are about it,” Jenner said on the podcast. “It’s not like you open your arms and say, ‘Hey, if it’s you, feel free to come along.’ It’s not friendly. And it’s very mean. It’s more like, ‘What the hell are you doing?'”
Openness instead of hiding
Jenner explained that while she knows that coming out is “not an easy thing,” she believes that if she saw herself as part of the LGBTQ community, she would be open about it. “Knowing myself, I think at this point in my life I would already be out if that were the case,” she said. “I’m not saying it’s easy. I’m just saying that – the way I am and the way I want to live my life – I wouldn’t have a problem with it.”
Jenner further clarified that she is not a lesbian “as of today,” but at the same time emphasized that she doesn’t want to close “any doors to life experiences” that might come her way in the future.
Criticism of rumors and business myths
“I think there’s this whole narrative that I’m hiding something,” Jenner said. “I’ve seen really stark things like, ‘That would be bad for business,’ and I’m like, ‘What? How?’ I don’t understand.”
While the rumors about her alleged homosexuality have no basis, Jenner has been in a relationship with several prominent personalities in recent years. She dated Harry Styles, A$AP Rocky and Ben Simmons, among others. Most recently, she found her way back to Devin Booker, with whom she dated from 2020 to 2022. She was also in a relationship with Bad Bunny in 2023 and 2024.
A conscious break from dating
Speaking about her decision to temporarily scale back dating, Jenner said on the podcast: “When I turned 29, I made a little commitment to myself. I thought, ‘I’m not going to turn anything down and I’m going to stay open to whatever feels right for me.’ But I really wanted to have a ‘me year’ where I put myself first.”
