Jesse Ylönen26, leaves Djurgårgen.

The Finnish striker moved to the Stockholm club last summer. However, successes in the Swedish main league were few and far between. Ylönen scored seven (3+4) power points in 24 matches.

According to Djurgården’s press release, the initiative to part ways came from Ylö, who wanted a club transfer in order to play more.

Therefore, it was unanimously decided to cancel the contract.

– He really fought and tried, but we both felt that he would have trouble getting ice time in the future, DIF sports boss Niklas Wickegård quoth.

Departure from the NHL

In 2020, Ylönen moved to the Montreal Canadiens, who had booked him two years earlier.

With the experience of 111 NHL games, he headed to the Tampa Bay Lightning for the 2024-25 season, but a place at the top didn’t open up. During the season, Ylönen was transferred to the Nashville Predators, but even there the AHL remained the place to play.

Ylönen has represented Pelicans in the SM league.
