Eurosport is positioning itself broadly for its extensive Olympic broadcasts. The TV station recruited numerous former athletes, including medal winners, to analyze the competitions.

The Winter Olympics will begin in Milan in around a month (February 6th). In addition to ARD and ZDF, private broadcaster Eurosport will also broadcast the major event on all platforms. A total of 850 hours of the Olympics will be shown live – 260 hours of which will be on free TV on Eurosport 1. And the channel, which is part of the Discovery Group, has a broad staffing base to achieve this. The experts rely on well-known and highly decorated names.

Around 30 former athletes with a total of 37 Olympic medals (22 gold, 8 silver, 7 bronze) are part of the team of experts. One of them: Anni Friesinger-Postma. The former world-class speed skater won three gold medals at the Games.

Just like the former national coaches Werner Schuster (ski jumping) and Jochen Behle (cross-country skiing) or ski jumping world champion Markus Eisenbichler, the 48-year-old analyzes the competitions in the studio and explains key moments on the touchscreen.

The specialist knowledge of André Lange and Kevin Kuske is used in bobsleigh. Lange won four golds and one silver, Kuske even won four golds and two silvers – making him the most successful bobsleigh athlete at the Olympic Games.
