Bosschaert had reduced the number of trucks in the new application, from eighty to a maximum of sixty per day. Adjustments would also be made to reduce visual and noise pollution. Bosschaert is now not waiting for the decision of Flemish Environment Minister Jo Brouns and is withdrawing the application for a permit himself.
We have not yet reached the company itself for a response, so it is unclear for the time being whether the withdrawal is final or whether the company will submit an amended application.
More later.
