The World Boccia Challenger, an event held at the GeoVillage in Olbia, preparatory to the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games, saw athletes from eighteen nations compete in a top-level competitive setting. Italy managed to win two silver medals in the BC3 category: one in the individual competition with Gabriele Zendron and the other in the mixed pair composed of Zendron and Giulia Marchisio. The images of the event tell the success of the international event, organized by the FIB, through the ASD ICHNUSA Organizing Committee, and supported by the Tourism Department of the Sardinia Region, the Sports Department of the Sardinia Region, the Sports Department of the Municipality of Olbia and the FIB partner BMW Specialmente. In Olbia, for the second time, fans were able to see the strongest athletes in the world at work. Paralympic Bowls is a federal discipline that allows athletes with serious and very serious disabilities to compete at high levels. Initiatives like this contribute to giving visibility to Paralympic sport and supporting the growth of Italian athletes towards increasingly ambitious goals.
