It is now clear to all viewers that Monique Hansler is a mother-in-law with whom it is impossible to live in harmony. Denise van der Laan has experienced this personally and tonight we finally see in the SBS 6 soap De Hanslers how the break between her and Mike Hansler came about.

Teringwijf

An explosion has occurred between Denise and Monique, as can be seen in previews in the show sections. “Denise is gone,” we see Monique say. “She’s gone. There’s a lot of talk going around about you,” she said. “Well, I have to go shopping with that bitch again.” Yes, the ground fell out from under me. I think: Jesus, what is this?

Mike then: “My mother told me that and it shocked me beyond belief. If you start saying things like this to strangers, how can I ever trust you again?”

Vase

The big question is: can Monique and Mike’s story be trusted? What is Denise’s explanation? Of course, we don’t know what happened behind the scenes. According to Mike’s other ex-girlfriend, Antine Algra, Mo is really out of her mind and also physically dangerous.

She tells in the Party: “When he wanted to come to Friesland to see my living environment, I was hit in the head by a vase. She was shouting that he had to choose between me and his mother. It went very far. She is holding him in a convulsive grip.”

Loyal

Monique was terrified that Antine would pull Mike away from her. “He needs to get out of there. But that won’t happen as long as she is there. He is far too loyal and does not dare to contradict her.”

She continues: “I am enterprising and I love to travel. When I told him about it, you could see his eyes light up. He could really imagine a beautiful life, maybe start a company somewhere abroad. He has completed a sports training and is now doing nothing with it. That is a shame.”

Realm

According to Antine, the atmosphere changed when Monique heard about those plans. Antine recently saw a poll on the internet asking whether Mo needs a psychiatrist. “Almost everyone agreed. Monique herself said that she had a mother with borderline and a father who was sometimes not in the picture. She did not get a good bond.”

“That’s probably why she clings so tightly to her family. Monique has created her own world and her own truths. I don’t know if a specialist can figure that out.”
