The missing Mick (19) from Helmond has still not been found on Friday evening. The Veterans Search Team Foundation (VST) wants to continue the search for the rest of the night for the mentally disabled boy who has been missing since Thursday night. A major search operation has also been announced for Saturday morning.

Mick disappeared around three o’clock in the night from Thursday to Friday at his parental home on Edelhertlaan in the Brouwhuis district of Helmond. Camera images taken shortly afterwards in the immediate vicinity of his home show that he was wearing little clothing.

He was probably wearing black Nike shorts and a red, pink shirt. Mick has a light complexion, blonde wavy hair, is about 6 feet tall and wears glasses. The police announced at the end of Friday afternoon that Mick may have been seen near the Ommelseweg in Asten around half past twelve in the morning.

On Friday evening, people are still looking for Mick with all their might in Helmond, Vlierden and Asten. According to a police spokesperson, the Veterans Search Team Foundation intends to continue the search through the rest of the night. The snow complicates the search.

Major search announced
Missing Coordination Platform has announced a major search operation from the CPV Wagen at Heibloemweg 10 in Helmond for Saturday morning from 10 a.m. The platform asks volunteers aged 18 and over to dress warmly for the search.

His family and the emergency services are very concerned about him. “He never actually went out alone,” said Ruud Hendriks, Mick’s father’s cousin, on Friday afternoon. “This has never happened before. Mick’s father woke up because he had to go to the toilet and saw the front door open. Outside the family, Mick has poor communication skills.”

The major search started in Edelhertlaan, where Mick lives, and was expanded from there. About a hundred veterans from the Veterans Search Team Foundation gathered on Friday afternoon in the canteen of the tennis club, at the Espendonk sports park. The Mobile Unit (ME), a drone team, a police helicopter, the Netherlands Rescue Dogs Foundation (SIN) and a group of local residents also joined in the search.
