The men of Mooi Wark have once again managed to conquer the number 1 position in the Drenthe 1000. Dead Silence is at the top of Radio Drenthe’s end-of-year list for the third year in a row.
Just like in previous years, Daniël Lohues occupies 2nd place I’m getting out of here. Input from Lohues can also be found on three, but as part of Skik: On bicycle completes the musical stage.
The men of Mooi Wark are very proud that listeners of Radio Drenthe voted most often for Dead Silence. Radio Drenthe DJ Wim Boer presented the band members with a plaque with all the songs from this year’s Drenthe 1000. And showed off at the top Dead Silence. “Very nice weather. Then we will of course make time to come here to the studio.”
The gentlemen looked back on their musical year. “It was extremely busy for us.” But one of the most important moments for Mooi Wark is that guitarist Arnold Kuik plays with the band again, after he fell off the stage during a performance in the summer. “He had to recover for months, but fortunately he has been playing with us for a month or two.”
In addition to Mooi Wark, Daniël Lohues, the top 10 of the Drenthe 1000 includes Hannah Mae and René Karst. With Atje for the atmosphere, Karst can be found in place 6. He rose twenty places. René Karst died on the last voting day of the Drenthe 1000.
The top ten places are all occupied by Dutch artists. Of course, mostly Drenthe artists, but Ede Staal (Groningen) and Danny Vera (Zeeland) have also found a place in the Drenthe list.
The highest new arrival this year is Dennis Hendriks. The former drummer of Mooi Wark has started a solo career and is climbing into the top twenty. Coffee for the two of us is in 19th place.
