It is uncertain how long Cristiano Ronaldo will continue to be on the field as a professional footballer. But one thing is clear: the global star still has a big goal in mind before the end of his career.
Cristiano Ronaldo reiterated at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai that he doesn’t want to end his career until he reaches the 1,000 goal mark.
“You know what my goal is. I want to win titles and I want to reach that number that you all know,” said the 40-year-old on Sunday at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai. “I will definitely reach that number if I don’t get injured.” Ronaldo currently has 956 goals in his entire career.
In the metropolis in the United Arab Emirates, Ronaldo was named the best player in the Middle East. The Portuguese, who turns 41 in February, explained that although it was difficult to continue playing, he was motivated.
“My passion is great and I want to continue,” said Ronaldo. He emphasized that it didn’t matter to him whether he was active in the Middle East or Europe. He always has fun playing football.
Ronaldo, who has been playing for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia since 2022, had recently announced that the upcoming World Cup with Portugal in the USA, Canada and Mexico would be his last. The superstar is likely to continue his career at club level. His contract with Al-Nassr runs until 2027.
