Divock Origi, remember? He has not appeared on the pitch for the Rossoneri since May 2023, at the end of a championship made up of 27 appearances, most as a substitute, and two goals, against Monza and Sassuolo. Yet he often appeared in the news: having returned from a subsequent loan to Nottingham Forest, Origi then opposed any other transfer, without seeing himself in action anymore. He no longer trained at Milanello, in agreement with the club. Just over a year ago, it became known that the Belgian was spending time in Rome and Florence, training with a personal trainer: he had to stay in Italy for (also) fiscal reasons. Returning to the field, however, was evidently never in his thoughts.

There is something new: the termination of the contract that tied him to Milan until the next season is done. Goodbye, after 36 games with the Rossoneri, all in his first season. Milan will therefore save part of the money they still owe them and close a terrible chapter. Origi had signed with the Rossoneri club in 2022, just after winning the scudetto. A contract worth 4 million net per season until June 2026, more than 300,000 euros per month. Since then it has been very bad. A first season with Pioli as a reserve, with those two useless goals in the league and nothing in the Champions League. Then the change of management, from Maldini and Massara to the Furlani-Moncada management, who chose to send him on loan to Nottingham Forest to save money on his salary. Another negative chapter, with the last match played in April 2024. There was a moment, in the summer of 2024, when the transfer to Turkey seemed possible, then nothing was done and Origi never set foot on the pitch again. Thus, from that 2022 market, not exactly productive, there is no one left: Vranckx, Dest, Thiaw, De Ketelaere and indeed Origi had arrived. They are all elsewhere.
