Plan of foreign game

The Serie A game between AC Milan and Como 1907 will not take place in Perth, Australia, as planned. Serie A and the local organizers announced this in a joint statement. The reason was “further and unacceptable demands from the Asian Football Association,” as the statement said.
The game on February 8, 2026 was scheduled to take place in Perth because Milan’s San Siro is not available due to the Winter Olympics taking place at the same time. The bosses of Serie A had hoped that hosting the game in Australia would give a boost to the international marketing of the Italian league. It is still unclear where the encounter will take place now. Most recently, the Spanish LaLiga’s plan to play the championship game between FC Barcelona and FC Villarreal in Miami had already been scrapped.
