In the fight for promotion, 1. FC Kaiserslautern has to accept a bitter setback. Düsseldorf manages to break free against Fürth.

In a spectacular duel in the 2nd Bundesliga, 1. FC Kaiserslautern suffered a bitter defeat on Saturday afternoon. At the end of the first half of the season, the Palatinate lost their home game against relegation-threatened 1. FC Magdeburg 2:3 (0:2) – a bitter setback in the promotion race for FCK. The gap to third place is now six points.

At the same time, Fortuna Düsseldorf gained breathing room in the relegation battle. Coach Markus beginning’s team achieved a deserved 2-1 home win (1-0) against Greuther Fürth in the basement duel. VfL Bochum and Karlsruher SC drew 2-2 (1-0).
