Albert Verlinde has had heated arguments with many celebrities in the past. The one with Humberto Tan even gave him a criminal record. “What about Connie Witteman and Gordon?”

As the founder of RTL Boulevard, it is logical that Albert Verlinde has had quite a few arguments with famous Dutch people. That program used to be a spicy show section in which everything revolved around Albert’s sharp tongue. However, he had his most disastrous argument during his time at Shownieuws, namely with Humberto Tan.

Goor and Con

Slandering Humberto eventually even earned Albert a note on his criminal record. “I didn’t know that he will have a criminal record. And won’t the ribbon be taken away?”, Marc-Marie Huijbregts shouted on TV at the time.

Albert was allowed to keep that. And according to the show expert himself, he will no longer have any fights in 2025. “So everything is still completely fine between you and Connie Witteman?” asks the always wonderfully passionate star reporter Weekend him this week. “And with Gordon, because that sometimes messed up in the past…”

Stairwell

The argument between Albert and Connie was especially hilarious, because they lived in the same chic building in PC Hooftstraat at the time. At the time, she criticized Prime Minister Mark Rutte’s corona policy and VVD supporter Albert was quite angry about that.

He dragged her through the mud on television and, figuratively, through their shared stairwell: “I wasn’t at home, luckily, because I had really pulled her through the stairwell. I think this is like this: why are you doing this? What’s the point?”

Connie was shocked: “I AM IN SHOCK… He lives next door to me!”

What about now?

And what the argument with Gordon was about? Well, which argument exactly… Albert states in the Weekend that everything is now peace and quiet. “Everything is completely fine. Very good, right? I don’t feel like doing that kind of hassle anymore. Of course, sometimes you think: Well, that’s tough.”

He concludes: “But when you see the rest of the world, you kind of cherish what you have. Of course, we are all creatures of luxury, aren’t we? Connie doesn’t have to watch her last penny, I don’t have to watch my last penny. So then I think: celebrate life a little!”
