“The legislation is not a menu of options”: De Ridder not a fan of lower fines for mobile phone use on a bicycle than in a car

Flemish Minister of Mobility Annick De Ridder (N-VA) is not a fan of the Cyclists’ Union’s proposal regarding lower fines for mobile phone use on the bicycle than in the car. “Traffic legislation is not a menu of options. Rules apply to everyone, whether you are in a car, riding a bicycle or using a scooter,” the minister said in a response.
