It will be quite a challenge for Maxime Meiland: the ratings hit Chateau Meiland is ending, but it goes without saying that she would like to continue in showbiz. After all, that is an easy way to work little and earn a lot. Will she be interested in the offer of fallen reality star Rogier Smit? He wants to form a TV duo with her.
No Gordon
Rogier expresses his wish in an interview with the Party. “If I wanted someone for a television duo, I know exactly who. Maxime Meiland. She is honest, she works hard, she wears her heart on her sleeve. She is a businesswoman.”
He continues: “We both wear our hearts on our sleeves. But because she is a woman, it works better than with a man. That wouldn’t work with a Gordon type, because then you get two captains on one ship again.”
Not in gratitude
Does Rogier know the reality star? “I saw her yesterday. She lives nearby in Noordwijk. But due to certain things in the past, contact never really started.”
Why not then? “It wasn’t my fault, it was because of Frank. He once spoke badly about the Meiland family and he was not appreciated. That also affected me.”
Open ended
All in all, Rogier sees a future for himself in the TV world. “It’s not finished. It feels like there’s still something to come. I started somewhere and it became a success and then it was suddenly over. That doesn’t feel like a closure. For me it’s an open ending, a door that can swing open again.”
Maxime herself does not rule out that she will end up behind a cash register somewhere, but mother Erica Meiland thinks differently. She says in the Weekend: “Haha, of course not! Maxime is doing very well on Instagram and she will still participate in TV programs that she likes.”
