Gusts of wind up to 60 km/h whip over Rock am Ring! The weather service warns – drive the pegs deep, use the NUNAV app to get there. Prepare now.

The time has come: Rock am Ring starts on June 5th. The campsites fill up, the lawn turns into trampled paths. But while everyone looks up at the sky and unpacks their rubber boots when the weather is bad, most people forget about another weather phenomenon: the wind.

How nice it must be to fall into your tent at night after Limp Bizkit, pull your sleeping bag up to your chin and be able to sleep off the day’s rush. Helmuth knocked the pegs into the muddy ground the evening before, and the tent – apart from the beer pong table taking up space – is comfortably and warmly paved with sleeping bags. And then: botch. It tears the tent roof away. The beer pong table tips over onto Monika with all the beer left over, and Sören suddenly stands upright in his sleeping bag like a canned sardine come to life. Oh, if only Helmuth had stomped the pegs deeper into the muddy ground. So that this mess doesn’t happen to you, here’s some important information about the rock weekend at the ring.

Drive in the pegs deeply

The German Weather Service has issued a warning about strong gusts of wind. These are supposed to whip across the festival grounds at up to 60 km/h. And before everyone starts with “There is no such thing as bad weather, there is only bad clothing”: Think about the tents, some of which are on not so solid ground. So for all Helmuths out there, it’s time to drive pegs deep into the ground! Maybe attach a rope to the neighboring tent, according to the motto: Your fate is my fate. On the other hand, if you want to set up a pop-up tent on the campsite, you’ll need a lot of luck without bricks in the interior.

Arrival

There are also tips that you should keep in mind when you arrive. The organizer recommends using the NUNAV app to find the next free parking space at the booked campsite as quickly as possible. With other navigation options there is a risk of ending up in a dead end or on closed roads. Anyone who has anchored their tent can look forward to cloudy weather and good music from Friday.
