However, you can’t always trust the markings. Aftonbladet reports Sweden’s star skier Emma Ribomin was surprised to hear that her boyfriend’s relationship status is marked as “single”.
Ribom has dated an American skier by JC Schoonmaker with since 2023. This has apparently not reached Fis’s awareness.
Aftonbladet told Ribom about it in Davos. The newspaper says that Ribom was surprised when he heard about it.
– Jaahas. You have to ask him about that. What does it say about me?
When the answer was “nothing”; Ribom was even more amazed.
– But he is not single. I can assure you of that, Ribom said with a smile.

According to Ribom, the couple lives in a long-distance relationship. The two-time world champion lives in Sweden, while Schoonmaker lives in Alaska.
The couple sees each other regularly, also outside the competition venues. During the ski competitions, time together is actually on the cards. Even if both are in the same place, the Swedish and USA teams often stay in different hotels.
– We see each other on runs, or we go for coffee together.
