Russian skiers have now officially returned to international competitions.
Photographers flocked to the World Cup tracks in Davos Saveli Korostelovin22, who will have the “honor” of representing his country in the races starting on Friday.
The picture of the young skier says it all. Joy is supreme, and a smile is tender. Korosteljov previously described on Instagram that the Davos race ticket is a “Christmas miracle”.
The Russians compete in the FISI competitions of the International Ski Federation as “neutral athletes” without country codes. They have been required not to support Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine.
In addition, the Russian athletes had to pay 2,000 Swiss francs, or 2,140 euros, for their right to compete.
In addition to Korosteljov, Davos is expected Darya Nepryaeva23. Both are junior world champions.
In Davos, there will be skiing on Friday in pairs relays (v), on Saturday sprints (v) and on Sunday 10 km time trial races (v).
