Iceland, following the example of the Netherlands and Spain, will not go to the Eurovision Song Contest next year. This was decided on Wednesday during a board meeting of the public broadcaster RÚV, the broadcaster itself announced. Last week, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the organizer of the Eurovision Song Contest, announced that Israel may participate in next year’s edition in Austria. A number of countries subsequently decided to boycott the event.
