“Slight” improvement in the coma condition of Marwa (18) brings hope to the family: “But it must be done with dignity”

If the second opinion of a doctor from UZ Leuven reaches the same conclusion as that of UZ Antwerp, the life-sustaining treatment of coma patient Marwa Benahmed (18) may be stopped. As long as that is not the case – the doctors at the UZA even reported a “slight” improvement today – the family wants Marwa to live. “The chance that Marwa will regain consciousness is extremely small, but medical miracles do exist,” they say.
