The German cycling star Florian Lipowitz will remain with the top team Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe in the future. The third in this year’s Tour de France agreed on a “long-term” extension of the cooperation with the Raubling racing team. Team boss Ralph Denk announced this on Wednesday on the sidelines of the training camp in Mallorca.
“I’m super happy to continue with this team. We have a special relationship. I’m looking forward to the next few years” Lipowitz said. Denk appreciated that “phenomenal” Development as a professional cyclist. The young star reached the Tour podium in Paris in the white jersey on his debut in the summer.
Lipowitz’s return to the Tour de France is firmly planned for the coming season. The 25-year-old will form a dual leadership with double Olympic champion Remco Evenepoel, who has joined the team as a star newcomer.

“It’s good to go to the tour with two leaders. Together we can play our cards differently. I’m looking forward to riding the tour with him.”said Lipowitz. Evenepoel also spoke positively about the future collaboration with Lipowitz. But it is still too early to discuss possible tactics.
Veteran star Primoz Roglic is scheduled to be captain at the Vuelta in Spain and will fight for his fifth overall victory there.
