Frank Lammers is put through the wringer in a Telegraaf article in which the latest Christmas commercials are reviewed. “That man drives me crazy!” is the criticism.
Marketing expert Chris Woerts, known from Today Inside, is not really impressed by the latest Christmas advertisements. He speaks The Telegraph expresses his annoyance at the commercials. He thinks it’s too cozy. “It’s all feel-good what we see, as if we live in a ‘heppie de peppie’ country, without any problems,” he complains.
Lammers-moe
Chris is most annoyed by Jumbo’s advertising. Frank Lammers, the face of the supermarket chain, plays a leading role in this. His fictional wife tells an anecdote about her childhood friend.
He says about this: “That Christmas commercial is far removed from reality. Who is going to think about their old boyfriend at Christmas? I also think Frank has played out at Jumbo, you really need to replace him. People are tired of Frank Lammers in the Netherlands. That man drives me crazy.”
‘Jeroen better!’
Chris likes the one from Albert Heijn better, in which Christmas decorations are made in a workshop full of elves. In this advertisement the leading role is reserved for Jeroen van Koningsbrugge. “This is the best commercial of the year, a spot like this could have cost a million euros.”
He concludes: “I also had to laugh at the Aldi commercial. In it you see that Andy van der Meijde, who doesn’t even know how to fry an egg, is suddenly portrayed as a kitchen prince, I find that hilarious.”
