Together with the three daughters of the company owner Friedrich Knapp, who died in 2024, NEW YORKER donated 1 million euros for children in need at this year’s “A Heart for Children” gala on December 6th. In doing so, the company honors the life’s work of its founder and at the same time continues a tradition, because social commitment has always been a matter close to the heart for Friedrich Knapp.

With the donation as part of the BILD Helps eV gala “A Heart for Children” on Saturday evening, the fashion company and the Knapp family are once again sending a strong signal for social responsibility.

At the company headquarters in Braunschweig, NEW YORKER CEO Jonas Gnauck handed over the donation check to children’s reporter Collin. “It has always been one of our company’s core values to support where help is most urgently needed. We would like to continue this commitment and use the donations specifically where they will provide the greatest benefit,” emphasizes Gnauck.

The donation is not only an expression of humanitarian responsibility, but also a clear commitment to the corporate culture and values that Knapp has built and lived, characterized by solidarity, compassion and a sense of responsibility – all of which are essential components of the corporate identity.

The annual fundraising gala by BILD helps eV “A Heart for Children” is one of the most important charity events in Germany and in 2025 it has once again impressively shown what is possible when companies, celebrities and private individuals act together. In total, more than 26 million euros were raised, enabling projects for children in need around the world.

With the renewed donation of millions, NEW YORKER and the Knapp family are underlining their long-standing commitment to this initiative.
