Wolter Kroes has now been dismissed as a hypocritical celebrity for two television evenings in a row. It’s hypocritical how he’s suddenly hugging Marco Borsato again, say TV celebrities.
It seems that Marco Borsato has been canceled for years for nothing, because according to the judge there is no evidence at all of fornication with an underage girl: he was acquitted this week. Immediately after the acquittal, the celebrities fell over each other to congratulate Marco. For example, Wendy van Dijk shouted that Marco should always keep hugging people.
Dear, dear Marco
We saw Wolter Kroes delirious with joy that evening in a video he made Show news had recorded. “Dear, dear Marco, congratulations boy! Fantastic! And I hope you come back, once again as the greatest artist in the Netherlands!”
Those statements went down the wrong way with Ronald Molendijk at the desk. He shouted: “I would also have liked it if all those people who are now suddenly stepping forward had also come forward every now and then over the past few years.”
‘It’s hypocritical’
An evening later, yesterday, Chris Woerts also criticized the jubilant Wolter. “Scandalous. Really scandalous. A Wolter Kroes who then says: ‘Oh, Marco, welcome back to the family!’ I find that really embarrassing,” he says at the bar Today Inside.
He continues: “You don’t hear them for six years and now every famous Dutch person posts a photo on Instagram or Facebook with Marco together, you know. It’s all so hypocritical.”
Michael Jackson
There are more hypocrites, says Hélène Hendriks. “What I find a bit hypocritical is that it is suddenly announced in a big way to radio stations that they are going to play his music again. Then I think: you also play Michael Jackson and also this and that. I find that so hypocritical.”
And Thomas van Groningen: “That Borsato also said when he walked out there, I thought that was an interesting quote: ‘The colleagues who supported me… Those who are know who I mean.’ In other words: he also seemed to hint a bit that there are also a lot of people who have dropped him.”
‘It really stands out’
Perhaps Marco will say something about this in the long term, says Thomas. “I’m curious whether we’ll find out over the years which friends dropped him.”
One thing is certain: Marco suddenly enjoys a lot of support. Johan Derksen: “I think that if Borsato now rents the Ziggo Dome, it will be sold out ten times over.”
