The woman who presented herself as Paula shared touching stories about her son Kimi in the Puhelinlangat laulaa program.

As Paula the introduced person called Yle Radio Suomen on Friday evening Telephone wires sing program and shared heartwarming stories about her son Kim.
In the program, you can wish for a song and present a story related to it. In the broadcast, Paula tells how they traveled with the whole family around Europe in their own old van while taking young Kim to various karting competitions.
She describes how little Kimi wondered why their family never flew or stayed in hotels when they traveled. According to the woman, the family simply could not afford such a thing at that time.
– I said that: “Well, let’s skip karting for a year”, he says that he answered Kim’s questions.
He says that he was motivated while traveling by the thought: “if this could become something” and stresses to the program’s listeners:
– What I want to say is that believe that if a child is passionate about something, then do everything you can.

The person who posed as Paula also mentions Kim’s brother in his speeches Rami and father Mattia.
– My older son Rami was the smart one in our family, and he certainly still is. He also drove karting and many other motor sports. However, I told Kim: “Get yourself a job like that”, and she wasn’t even ten at the time, the woman laughs.
He also shares a sweet story about Kim:
– He was eight years old when he hugged me and said “Mom, I’ll be a world champion one day, but I don’t know yet in which sport”.
The presenters of the program joke to Paula that “yes, it went well”, and state that Kimi was extremely successful on the race tracks.

Kimi Räikkönen is one of Finland’s most successful racing drivers. He has a mother Paula, a father Matti and an older brother Rami. However, in the program Puhelinlangat lauulaa, it was not completely certain whether the caller on Friday night was Paula, the mother of F1 champion Kimi Räikkönen.
