Beau van Erven Dorens wants the format of RTL Tonight not to change any further. It’s a shame that Renze Klamer didn’t like it all, but Beau thinks it’s great. “I’m having such a good time!”
It is also touching how much they at RTL Tonight still believe that it will work. Renze Klamer was the only realist of the bunch and has resigned. Critics cannot wrap their heads around the fact that RTL 4 boss Peter van der Vorst prefers to flog a dead horse over nurturing the greatest talk show talent he has in-house.
Beau disappointed
What does Beau van Erven Dorens think of Renze’s resignation? “Very unfortunate and also a bit disappointed, to be honestbecause the three of us started the adventure,” he says RTL Tonightin response to a question from studio guest Angela de Jong, who, like Beau, falls under DPG Media.
“Renze actually just decided together with RTL that this does not suit him and I think that is good, that RTL says: ‘Okay, we are not going to force you to do something that you do not feel good about’, and Humberto and I feel good about it. So soon with Leonie ter Braak joining us, we hope that we will have the team somewhat complete again.”
No changes
Angela wonders whether RTL will make any changes to the talk show. “And it will remain as it is now? No changes will be made to the format?”
Beau: “If it’s up to me, no, no, because I really enjoy it. I’m also really enjoying myself. This is my last episode this month, then I’ll take a break and Humberto will do it, but I really had a great time. We also had an incredibly fun episode yesterday and we’re all learning.”
Need time
Time is simply needed, says Beau. “It’s just a new program that’s building.”
Angela: “But don’t you just miss your table? That I can just look Frits in the eye much more easily and I don’t have to look back and forth all the time?”
Beau: “No, really not! I think it’s good that we’re doing something innovative. We have that table everywhere, everyone has a table and by the way, I’m standing today because my back hurts so much, so this is absolutely perfect. I’m completely satisfied.”
