Farewell to Mani: Primal Scream, Oasis and Richard Ashcroft pay tribute to Stone Roses bassist Gary Mounfield live in front of their audience.
Primal Scream have paid tribute to the late Gary “Mani” Mounfield with a song during their concert in Manchester on November 22nd. The band paid tribute to Mani in his hometown with a performance of “I’m Losing More Than I’ll Ever Have.”
In addition to Primal Scream, Ashcroft & Band also paid tribute to the deceased
Primal Scream joined numerous artists who paid respect to the bassist of the Stone Roses. Richard Ashcroft, former singer of The Verve, ended his performance in São Paulo on the same day with The Verve classic “Bittersweet Symphony” and said: “I would like to dedicate the next song to Mani from The Stone Roses. Rest in peace, legend.” His bassist Damon Minchella then played the bassline intro to the Stone Roses song “She Bangs The Drums”.

Oasis: “You will live forever”
Oasis also honored Mounfield in front of a gathered audience. Liam Gallagher dedicated the performance of “Live Forever” to him: “We would like to dedicate this song to our dear friend, our hero, the one and only Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield,” the frontman said, before a picture of Mani appeared on the screen.
As the song ended, the band turned to the image as the stage lights dimmed. During the following song, “Rock ‘N’ Roll Star,” Gallagher told the audience, “And he can have that song too.”
