The Weeknd breaks the billion mark with his record tour “After Hours Til Dawn”. All information about the highest-grossing tour by a solo artist and the Germany shows in 2026.
The Weeknd breaks another record with his “After Hours Til Dawn” tour: it goes down in music history as the highest-grossing tour by a male solo artist. In 2026, the Canadian will come to Germany for six shows.
Record break after four years
“Live Nation” announced in a press release that the R&B artist’s seventh tour has so far grossed one billion US dollars, the equivalent of 867 million euros. This makes it the “highest-grossing tour by a male artist in history”. Crossing the $1 billion mark with 153 total shows and 7.5 million tickets sold also includes sales of its 2026 tour dates, which include stops in North America, South America, Europe and the UK between April and August.
The record-breaking tour kicked off in Philadelphia, USA in summer 2022 and will end in Lisbon, Portugal in summer 2026. The tour returns to Germany in June and July. The musician is giving a total of six concerts in the cities of Munich and Frankfurt am Main.
Buying tickets supports education and fights hunger
A portion of every ticket sold for the 2026 edition will be invested in charity. In collaboration with Global Citizen, donations benefit disadvantaged children and hungry people. The amounts will be used to provide education and food.
So far, the tour has already raised $8.5 million – around seven million euros – for the O Humanitarian Fund and Global Citizen, as “NME” reported.
The Weeknd plans to give up his stage name
Earlier this year, Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, his real name, explained that he wanted to give up his stage name after overcoming “every challenge imaginable” under that pseudonym. “I feel like there’s so much attached to it,” the 35-year-old told Variety. “You have a role, but then you also have competition. It becomes a race: more awards, more success, more shows, more albums, more awards and more number one hits. It never stops until you stop yourself.”
The singer added his real name to the social handles as early as 2023. The artist says he wants to complete the name change process after the tour ends.
