So far, the Champions League games have been shown on Amazon and DAZN. That will change in the future – one of the streaming services will come away empty-handed.

A new provider is starting to broadcast the Champions League. As several media outlets unanimously report, UEFA has awarded the TV rights for broadcasting the premier class from the 2027/2028 season. The US broadcaster Paramount+ has secured a large part of the rights for Germany. Amazon also continues to hold some of the rights. The streaming service DAZN, on which a large proportion of the games have been played so far, is left empty-handed.

Paramount+ will take over the broadcast of the top game on Tuesday (previously on Amazon). Amazon will show the top game on Wednesday (previously DAZN). All remaining games on Tuesday and Wednesday will be shown by Paramount+ (previously DAZN held these rights).

For German football fans, this would mean that they would now need four subscriptions in order to be able to watch all games in the Bundesliga (shown on Sky and DAZN) and the Champions League.

Another possible innovation: According to “Bild”, the Champions League final will no longer be shown on free TV in the future, but on the streaming service Netflix. Only if a German team plays the final does the game have to be shown on free-to-air TV. There is no final decision from UEFA yet.

The streaming service DAZN will continue to show international football. He has secured the broadcast rights for the Europa League and the Conference League. Until now these were with RTL.
