Genoa coach Daniele De Rossi presented the next match against Cagliari in a press conference
Genoa is preparing to face Cagliari away for the 12th matchday of Serie A: kick-off at the Unipol Domus on Saturday at 3pm. It will be the debut on the rossoblù bench for Daniele De Rossi, after following the match against Fiorentina from the Ferraris stand (due to disqualification). The coach presented the challenge in the press conference starting from the work carried out during the break: “We are proud that our players go around the world, I worked with whoever I had available. We worked on our principles and on things that needed more time. The players return with moods linked to the qualifications achieved: some are happy, others a little less”.
The words
De Rossi then focused on the opponent: “It can be called a direct clash even if whoever is now in the safety zone doesn’t mean that May is also safe. We have to play all the matches in the same way. Every match has its key, what must always be there is our mentality of dominating the game. I want to see a match with the attributes even away from home.” Speaking of the welcome he received in the city, he added: “I was welcomed very well. In recent days we have traveled around a bit and I found a lot of Genoans, all very affectionate and trusting. I want to repay this trust.”
The coach also spoke about the situation in the standings: Genoa are third from last with 7 points: “In the first conference I said that the team doesn’t deserve this ranking. Bad luck didn’t abandon us even in my first match. It must become difficult to score goals for us.” On the injured players he added: “Some aren’t feeling very well, we had some problems in defence. But Sabelli is back and today Otoa will be back”. Finally on Colombo who returned to scoring against Fiorentina: “I found it good. The attackers have that extra attitude when they score. He worked well, his attitude has always been positive.”
