The former defense minister, Santa Fe Agustin Rossiranges between Kirchnerism and support for the president Alberto Fernandezbut preserving its own space in the province, where it celebrates that the elections take place separately from the national one, something that many other Peronist governors are studying for 2022, fearing be tied to the presidential.
“In the province of Santa Fe there are legal impediments to unify the elections, the national election is scheduled for the third week of October. We are going to vote 4 times, 2 for the provincial elections and 2 for the national ones”, endorsed Rossi in dialogue with “El Disparador” (Delta 90.3).
“The Front of All is going to have PASO in Santa Fe. And we believe that our candidate not only has Peronist ancestry but also has a speech, look and proposal capable of challenging the progressive sectors of our province,” the former minister supported the deputy provincial Leandro Busato as a pre-candidate for governor of Santa Fe Peronism for next year.
Last year, the Rossi current faced the list of candidates promoted by the governor Omar Perotti (who has no re-election), and relations were resentful and the former minister wounded. But Rossi has since consolidated his position with German Martinez as a replacement for Maximo Kirchner as head of the block of national deputies of the Front of All.
“I am convinced that with unity alone it is not enough, but without unity it is not possible. The base of the Frente de Todos asks that unity continue to be maintained. And I think that when the differences are made public it is because before they were tried to resolve in a more secular way and they could not be resolved, that is why they are expressed in public terms, ”said Rossi about his own position, but also about the discussions that divide the Front of All, with the public crosses between Cristina Kirchner and the president.
“I don’t think I ever nothing was written, what were we going to do when the differences appear. In my opinion, the one who makes the decision is the one who has the responsibility to lead and that is the president of the nation and discussions should end”, Rossi pointed out, however, highlighting that there is a lack of experience in the space on how to lead a coalition where power is exercised in a less top-down way.
“We are having the first experience of governing in a coalition framework, which are usually electoral architectures that are very glamorous when it comes to running for election, but later present their limitations when managing and governing”, marked the former minister.
And he balanced: “At some point in 2016, when it was the first moment of Mauricio Macri’s government, I walked the province and people told me that I had to defend, care for and support Cristina Kirchner, So I coined a phrase that said: `There is more Kirchnerism in the people than in the leaders’. Today they tell me the same thing, there is more unity in the people than in the leaders”.
Rossi claims to close ranks, support Alberto Fernández, but without stopping listening to and “defending” Cristina Kirchner, the main shareholder of the FDT. A difficult alchemy to achieve, but not impossible in the face of fear of a landslide defeat in next year’s electionsand.
