The grandson of Henny Huisman accidentally saw the video behind the scenes of Shownieuws that the program will broadcast after his death. “Somehow funny.”

Henny Huisman will celebrate his 75th birthday next year. The presenter is only one year younger than Viola Holt, who died this month, so that sometimes keeps him busy. “I want to be buried, Lia cremated. One day I will be at a cremation that I don’t want, or she will be at a funeral that she doesn’t want.”

Buried

Everything has already been selected, Henny tells us in conversation with him A.D. “I know where I want to be buried, in the cemetery here, Onderlangs. I have already discussed it with the gravedigger who works there. I had seen a nice spot, but he recommended another place. Otherwise, people who came to my grave would have to detour so far.”

Does Henny want to live to be as old as his 94-year-old mother? He has doubts about it. “Besides, if I start losing teeth spontaneously, then the decline has already started,” he jokes.

Death video

Henny realizes that the end is approaching. “My grandson worked at Shownieuws for a very short time, he said: ‘Grandpa, I saw the video that they have ready for when you die.’ The screen said 1951, a line and then four dots.’”

Does he find that confrontational? “No, I find it funny in a way. I have once jokingly said that I will die in 2046, when I will be 95, older than my mother. I can see my gravestone like this: ‘A ratings cannon, ended up as a rattling gun.’ You must have that self-mockery, right?”
