“There are defects in the building, the residential care center is inadequate in hand hygiene, medication and care planning, in care practice and the follow-up of calls when residents call for help is not going well,” says the Department of Care.
The residential care center must now submit a remediation plan, in which it must explain for each problem how it will solve it and within what period. The Care Department will then check whether that is enough and whether it leads to a solution quickly enough.
Tara is not the only residential care center under supervision in our province: two residential care centers in Blankenberge and Knokke-Heist are also under increased supervision, as are two assisted living homes in Koksijde.
