Even though nothing came of his debut for the senior national team, Said El Mala is still on everyone’s lips and is apparently in great demand throughout football Europe. The Spanish sports newspaper “Sport” now reports that FC Barcelona should deal with the shooting star of 1. FC Köln.
On the left flank, Barça has the world-class Brazilian Raphinha. The Catalans only borrowed backup Marcus Rashford from Manchester United. The 28-year-old Englishman could be tied thanks to a purchase option, but Flick is said to be thinking about building a much younger talent behind Raphinha, who is also 28. El Mala is under contract with FC until 2030 – without an exit clause.

The big dream of the final in the home stadium has shattered: The women’s team of 1. FC Köln was eliminated from the DFB Cup early with a 2:3 defeat at SC Sand. The Bundesliga team fell behind twice in the first half against the second division leaders. After goals from Kim Schneider (2nd minute) and Pija Reininger (22nd), Anna-Lena Stolze (8th) and Celina Degen (37th) were able to equalize.
In the second half, FC were in control, but fell behind for a third time after Leni Fischer’s long-range goal (66′). This time there was no answer. FC coach Britta Carlson was annoyed after the final whistle: “Sand just wanted it a little more. We were missing a few percent.” The cup final, which has been taking place in Cologne since 2010, will once again take place without FC.

Said El Mala apparently has to wait even longer for his debut for the German senior national team. After only sitting on the bench in the 2-0 win in Luxembourg on Friday evening, the shooting star of 1. FC Köln is now set to leave the DFB team. This is reported by the “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger”.
El Mala will be removed from the squad before the final game in the World Cup qualification against Slovakia on Monday evening (8.45 p.m.) in Leipzig. Karim Adeyemi, who was suspended in Luxembourg, returns. El Mala should instead join the U21 national team, which will face Georgia in the European Championship qualifiers on Tuesday evening (6 p.m.).
