Tina Nijkamp finds it unbelievable that the new daily program De Juice by Yvonne Coldeweijer will only last half an hour. “It will be a very tough one for her.”
After months of postponement, it will finally happen after New Year’s Eve: Yvonne Coldeweijer’s daily juice show will start on Net5 on January 3. Will this score or not? TV authority Tina Nijkamp has her doubts. “It will be half an hour, from eight to half past nine, and that is very little,” she says in her podcast Tina’s TV Update.
Heavy sinker
The broadcast time of Yvonne’s show is simply too short, Tina thinks. “That actually shocked me the most, that it is only half an hour and not an hour, because half-hour programs on small channels, well, that is almost impossible. And also in the early evening. I don’t know whether this will be a success.”
What is now at the same time? “It will replace Masterchef, which now runs from half past seven to half past eight, and therefore lasts an hour. That alone only has 135 thousand viewers and is one of the most viewed foreign purchase titles that Net5 has. So it will be a very tough one for Yvonne Coldeweijer.”
500 thousand?
Will Yvonne score half a million viewers? Absolutely not, Tina thinks. “The chance that she will reach 500,000 viewers or so seems minimal to me. It is of course true that it can be watched again after a delay, but the money is really earned from linear television viewing.”
She concludes: “Only one commercial break is possible in half an hour, so yes, no, it will be a tough one in terms of viewing figures for Yvonne. Who knows, it will be an unexpected hit, that is possible, but in terms of environment she certainly did not get the easiest slot.”
