Eleven matches, all three groups on the pitch this Sunday in Serie C. The 14th day will end tomorrow with the postponed games Pergolettese-Giana (group A) and Foggia-Cavese (C).

group a

Vicenza doesn’t lose pace: Cuomo’s strike after 10′ (following a free kick) is enough to beat a combative Renate and win their eighth victory in as many games at the Menti, (despite the rain, Marcelo Otero, old red and white glory, was also seen in the corner). Lecco keeps pace with the league leaders, overcoming Pro Patria thanks to the Swiss Furrer served by a header from Sipos. Valente’s team thus remains at -8 from the top, while Brescia slips to -10, stopped at 0-0 in the Ospitaletto derby: at the ‘Gino Corioni’ – stadium named after the historic president of Brescia – the home team does better overall, however, protesting for a hold by Silvestri on Bertoli but still taking a risk on the crossbar hit in injury time by Zennaro. Next Sunday the direct clash Brescia-Vicenza. Meanwhile, Novara scores a coup in Sesto San Giovanni, home of Alcione: Basso’s goal marks the first away success and the seventh useful result in a row for Zanchetta. At the hands of AlbinoLeffe, however, comes the third consecutive defeat of Virtus Verona who slipped into the playout zone.

group b

Roberto Venturato made his debut with a draw at the helm of Livorno, holding Ravenna to 1-1 who – despite an excellent second half – thus failed to overtake Arezzo at the top: Spini replied to Gentile’s header in the second half with a penalty, awarded after Fvs review. In the other match, goals from Faggi and Vitali were enough for Pontedera to get the better of Pianese (who still maintain two points more in the standings).

group c

In full recovery, after a difficult afternoon, Salernitana managed to overcome Altamura (who complained about a disallowed goal) regaining the top spot thanks to two penalties: the decisive one from the 11-metre Golemic, after Liguori had equalized Rosafio’s initial lead in the same way. After Catania’s defeat in Casarano (Saturday), second place is taken by Benevento: Antonio Floro Flores’ debut on the bench is the best possible, 3-1 at Monopoli with the first goal from Lamesta arriving by executing a splendid play from the flag. At the end of a complicated week, with the change of sporting director (Peppe Di Bari replacing Enzo De Vito), Potenza starts again by overcoming Trapani despite Bachini’s expulsion at the end of the first half (ex Anatriello scored). Cerignola is also on the rise, achieving their second consecutive victory in Giugliano thanks to Parlato.
