Jannik Sinner won his semi-final against the Australian Alex de Minaur at the ATP Finals on Saturday (11/15/2025) with 7:5, 6:2 (7:5, 6:2) and is in the final for the third time in a row, where he will face long-term rival Carlos Alcaraz.
Dream final perfect: Jannik Sinner is only one step away from defending his title at the ATP Finals. The world number two from Italy also gave the blatant outsider Alex de Minaur no chance, to the delight of the 12,000 fans in the Turin Arena. It was 7:5, 6:2 after an atmospheric semi-final game.
Sinner’s great rival Carlos Alcaraz followed suit on Saturday evening and made the eagerly awaited final between the two best players of the tennis year by far perfect. The Spaniard, who will definitely end the season as world number one, won in his semi-final against Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime.
30 games undefeated
Sinner, who ended the match with a powerful forehand after 1:52 hours, extended an impressive series with his fourth victory at this year’s ATP Finals. He has been unbeaten on indoor hard courts for 30 games now. Sinner’s 31st win in Sunday’s final would complete a successful season with two Grand SlamTitles bring the sixth ATP title of 2025.
For de Minaur, an unlikely journey ended at the Finals. With just one win from three games and a negative set difference, the Australian fought his way into the semi-finals. He initially held up very well against Sinner – supported by the euphoria of winning his first ever match at the ATP Finals against Taylor Fritz.
Sinner, however, showed his usual strong nerves and patience in the critical phase of the first round: he converted his eighth breakball to make the decisive difference. In the second set it became clear why de Minaur had lost to the Italian twelve times in twelve previous matches. Sinner was completely superior and marched to success number 13 in a direct comparison.
