The Red Furies rise to 15 points, +3 over Türkiye. Montella’s men only needed a penalty from Calhanoglu and an own goal from Chernev to beat Bulgaria. A direct clash is scheduled for the next round, but Oyarzabal and his teammates have a huge advantage in goal difference (+19 versus +4). In group H, Arnautovic with a brace leads Austria against Cyprus and brings Rangnick’s team closer to a historic qualification that has been missing for 27 years. In group J, Wales (already certain of the playoffs) advances against Liechtenstein. Belgium slows down against Kazakhstan and postpones qualification. At 9pm the other five matches will be on the pitch. Remote duel for first place in group C between Denmark and Scotland: the Danes take on Belarus, the Scots face Greece.
