As manager, Andreas Schicker led TSG Hoffenheim from the bottom of the table into the top half of the table. That arouses desire.

VfL Wolfsburg apparently has Andreas Schicker in their sights. According to information from “Kicker”, the sports director of TSG Hoffenheim is one of the narrow circle of candidates for the new sports management at the Bundesliga club. The background is the dismissal of sports director Sebastian Schindzielorz and the dwindling influence of managing director Peter Christiansen.

Accordingly, the Wolfsburg supervisory board is primarily leading the discussions. Supervisory board chairman Hans Dieter Pötsch, like Schicker, who was born in Austria, is said to be a supporter of the 39-year-old. There is also a connection to Schicker’s former club Sturm Graz.

The situation in Hoffenheim is complicated. After the resignation of several managers, Schicker lacks support in the club. It remains to be seen whether his sporting freedom of choice will continue. Things are going well in terms of sport: the squad he put together is in sixth place.

Chicer should also be an issue at Red Bull Salzburg. Talks with Wolfsburg could become more concrete in the coming days. A decision is expected before the next match day.
